Following the successful construction of 17 new houses in Krupanj, intended for the families which have had their homes destroyed by the catastrophic floods in May, Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic led the ceremonial handing out of the keys to newly built homes for 17 Krupanj families today.
These houses have been constructed within a larger project dedicated to supporting the overall flood-relief effort in Serbia, The project is being implemented by UNDP, for the Serbian government's Office for flood-related reconstruction and recovery, whilst being financed by United Arab Emirates.
The ceremonial handing out of the keys presented the opportunity for all of the project partners to extend their best wishes to the families eagarly awaiting the opportunity to move into their own new properties following the destruction of their homes just over six months ago.
The 17 houses in Krupanj are part of the total of 35 new homes being built in Krupanj, Valjevo and Obrenovac to acommodate the victims of the devestating floods which swept through the region earlier this spring.
